Discharge destinations for people with dementia admitted to psychiatric hospitals

On rare occasions people with dementia need to be admitted to psychiatric inpatient units. While patients have indicated that they prefer to be discharged home, discharges to care home and readmissions are common. This project will investigate which factors predict a successful discharge home for a person with dementia admitted to a psychiatric ward.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
