Early Trajectories Towards Bipolar Disorder: Examining Prodromal Diagnoses in Young People.
Young people with bipolar disorder often receive a formal diagnosis in late adolescence or early adulthood, often after a significant delay and previous clinical contact.
This project aims to describe which prior mental health diagnoses commonly occur before the bipolar disorder diagnosis is given and recorded, and how long before they appear, to inform earlier clinical awareness and preventive strategies.
