English and Romanian Adoptee Brain Imaging Study | C4C

  • Applicant: Sagari Sarkar
  • Project ID: 15-114

This study is a follow up study from our English and Romanian Adoptee study (ERA) the largest developmental study of this cohort, who have now reached adulthood. This study aims to examine the long term impact of severe early deprivation on adult brain development. We will compare adult Romanian adoptees to our 3 control groups: healthy adults; adults with ASD; and adults with ADHD. We will recruit these volunteers and perform structural and functional MRI scanning, and administer neuropsychological and cognitive tasks. We aim to identify brain areas that are associated with early deprivation.
