Symptoms presented in individuals with a diagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder are very similar to the symptoms presented in individuals with borderline personality disorder. This study aims to uncover whether there is a preference towards a certain diagnostic label and how individuals identify with their current mental health diagnosis. Additionally, it aims to understand how service users associate any past trauma with their presenting difficulties and whether individuals have experienced any stigma due to their mental health diagnosis

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
