The FOCUS study is testing whether xanomeline-trospium (Cobenfy) can improve thinking and cognitive function in people with early psychosis compared with standard treatments (risperidone or lurasidone). Participants are randomly assigned to one of the treatments, meaning neither they nor the study team know which treatment they receive during the 6-week study period. Participants may then choose to continue into a 52-week extension study to assess longer-term effects and safety.
