General hospital inpatient care pathways for people with dementia
People with dementia frequently experience general hospital admissions, and these admissions may present particular challenges because of their dementia, resulting in less satisfactory outcomes. In order to understand this situation better, we will be combining detailed information both on the dementia diagnosis from CRIS and SLaM data, but also on inpatient experiences recorded in neighbouring general hospital Trusts – King’s College Hospital to begin with.
