Group psycho-education intervention for negative symptoms in adolescents with early onset psychosis and their families: pilot acceptability and feasibility study

  • Applicant: Mariam Shah
  • Project ID: 26-042

This project will explore whether it is practical and acceptable to offer young people and their families group therapy sessions through child and adolescent mental health services. The sessions will provide psycho-education, means they are designed to help young people and their families understand and manage psychosis. Psychosis is a condition that can affect how a person thinks, feels and experiences reality. The sessions are for young people with negative psychosis symptoms which refer to reduced motivation, low energy, social withdrawal and difficulty expressing emotions specifically as psycho-education has been found to be helpful in reducing these symptoms in particular.
