Intersection of urological and pancreatic cancers and mental health

The effect of cancers of the bladder, prostate, testis and pancreas on patients mental health is becoming increasingly clear, with known increased rates of suicide and poorer cancer outcomes in this cohort. We are therefore looking at combining large cancer and mental health information databases at Guy’s Hospital and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to assess these specific issues, which can in future be used for improving diagnosis and treatment of these patients.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
