Loneliness and clinical outcomes in patients reviewed by Older Adult Liaison services

SLaM provides dedicated Older Adult Liaison services to the four Acute Trusts in its catchment who frequently see medical/surgical inpatients who are socially isolated and lonely, but there are no specific interventions or services on offer for this. This study will investigate the association between recorded loneliness and hospital outcomes (particularly readmissions) in this group.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
