  • Project ID: 15-091

To undertake audit of case records to evaluate how well practitioners are recording they are considering the Mental Capacity Act in practice and meeting statutory duties in relation to assessing capacity and making best interest decisions for service users who are unable to make decisions for themselves. The audit will select 5 – 6 case records to identify whether people are being helped to make decisions for themselves; whether assessments of capacity are being carried out and recorded where indicated; whether there is evidence of acting under best Interests as required by the Act and whether there is adequate recording of any use of restriction under the Mental Capacity Act or deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
