Mortality in people with dementia admitted to psychiatric wards

On rare occasions, people with dementia need to be admitted to psychiatric inpatient units. These patients often have complex mental and physical health problems and might be near the end of their life. It is unclear how this complexity affects the outcomes of mental health admissions, for example survival.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
