New Psychoactive Substances and Psychosis

There are increasing numbers of case reports detailing adverse side effects associated with the use of new psychoactive substance (NPS), in particular synthetic cannabinoids. This project will look at the rate of relapse in patients with psychosis who have a mention of NPS use in their records and compare this to the relapse rate of patients with psychosis and no mention of NPS use.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
