The ‘QTc interval’ is now commonly measured in routine ECGs (heart traces) because longer-than-normal intervals indicate higher risk of abnormal heart rhythms. In this study we will investigate long QTc intervals routinely recorded in general hospital inpatients seen by older adult liaison psychiatry services, and associations with mortality and other adverse outcomes.
