Outcomes of service users under the Alcohol Assertive Outreach Team

  • Applicant: Catherine Polling
  • Project ID: 23-051

The Alcohol Assertive Outreach Team (AAOT) was set up to provide intensive case-working for service users who had experienced repeated admissions to the general hospital for alcohol-related reasons. The service aims to engage service-users in regular contact with their keyworker, reduce their number of A&E attendances and hospital admissions and help them achieve abstinence from alcohol. This project aims to use clinical data to assess how well the service is achieving these aims with the service users it has worked with over the past two years, including whether there are differences in outcomes for different groups of service users – for example based on demographics or whether they have another psychiatric diagnosis.
