Perinatal mental healthcare for women with intellectual disability

  • Applicant: Rory Sheehan
  • Project ID: 26-057

Women with intellectual disability are at greater risk of developing mental health conditions throughout their lives but little is known about their mental health and the mental healthcare they receive in the perinatal period (pregnancy and up to 1 year post-delivery). In this study, we will look at women with intellectual disability who have given birth and who have been in contact with mental health services and describe their personal and clinical characteristics and compare them to women without intellectual disability.
