PET imaging of microglia with flu vaccine challenge from TREM2 MCI/AD cohort | C4C

  • Applicant: Oliver Cousins
  • Project ID: 19-073

We wish to investigate the role of the newly discovered TREM2 genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease, this gene is thought to be important for the brain’s immune response to the abnormal proteins that are found in Alzheimer’s disease. We will perform 4 specialised brain scans to investigate brain inflammation (before and after flu vaccination) and abnormal protein collection in people with and without the TREM2 gene and people with and with out mild cognitive impairment.
