Predicting cardiovascular events in patients under antidepressant treatment: a machine learning approach

  • Applicant: Raquel Iniesta
  • Project ID: 17-134

Antidepressant drugs are commonly used to treat major depressive patients but their effects on new cardiovascular events in people with and without pre-existing cardiovascular diseases are debated. This project will assess the relationship between antidepressant prescriptions and new cardiovascular events in patients with and without pre-existing cardiovascular diseases, as well as provide a prediction tool to anticipate the risk that a depressive patient will experience myocardial events if treated with antidepressant drugs.
