Psychomotor retardation in depression and risk of Parkinson’s disease

People who have depression are at higher risk of subsequent development of Parkinson’s disease, but it is not known which patients with depression might be at highest risk. We propose to look at whether psychomotor retardation (slowed thought, movement and speech) in depression predicts the development of Parkinson’s disease.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
