Retrospective controlled study of Advance Choice Document (ACD) creation and its relationship to health service use and routinely collected outcomes

The project aims to assess the impact that having an Advance Choice Document has on mental health service use, and other routinely collected outcomes. We will use electronic health records to compare all mental health service users with an Advance Choice Document in place with service users who do not have Advance Choice Documents to explore routinely collected outcomes. These will include clinical outcomes, as well has psychiatric and general health service use over time.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
