Smoking and Reduced Life Expectancy In Patients with Mental Illness

The extent to which smoking contributes to the reduced life expectancy in patients with mental illness is unclear. This study will attempt to quantify the average number of years life lost which are due to smoking in patients with different mental illnesses.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
