The effect of cannabis cessation on inflammatory markers in psychiatric inpatients

Cannabis withdrawal syndrome (CWS) affects psychiatric inpatients and is associated with an increased risk of admission to psychiatric intensive care. This project will examine the blood results of patients who are admitted to psychiatric hospital to investigate if cannabis use prior to admission is associated with raised inflammatory markers.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
