Time taken to initiate lithium in patients with bipolar affective disorder

  • Applicant: Timothy Nguyen
  • Project ID: 20-041

Lithium is the gold standard and should be the first-line, long-term mood stabilizer used to treat and prevent relapses in bipolar disorder, but long delays in this patient population have been reported. This project aims to ascertain the average time between when a patient is diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder and when he or she is prescribed lithium.
