Trends in diagnosis, management, wellbeing and treatment in people diagnosed with dementia in South East London: a retrospective cohort study over 10 years
Over the last 10 years the political attention to dementia, but also the understanding of the disease and the positive and adverse effects of treatments, has increased substantially. On a national level it has been shown that certain medications as anti dementia medications are prescribed more frequently, while other, as antipsychotics, are used less. Further there is an increased willingness to establish the correct type of dementia and to encourage patients to present at an earlier stage. This project aims to examine if that is reflected at local level.
