Understanding Mental Health Interventions for Looked After Children in Acute Need: A CRIS Dataset Analysis
Local Authority data suggest that about 45% of Looked after Children (LAC) have identifiable mental health diagnoses, and Local Authorities report that timely support through child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) is not available when children first enter care or at times of crisis. The primary aim of this project is to explore how the mental health needs of LAC are understood and responded to by CAMHS through an analysis of case records.
