Using Virtual Reality Assisted Therapy for Social Anxiety in Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Case Series | C4C

  • Applicant: Lucy Adams
  • Project ID: 20-022

The project will for the first time test the feasibility and acceptability of using virtual reality to assist the delivery of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for the treatment of social anxiety in autistic adolescents. We are proposing the use of virtual reality in this way because it may reduce the constraints associated with delivering CBT to this patient group which include reducing the reliance on abilities typically reduced in ASD.
