What are the prodromal features of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB)

  • Applicant: Lucy Gibson
  • Project ID: 24-020

Before developing a diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), many people report problems with their memory or movement, the presence of psychiatric symptoms or episodes of confusion; however, we don’t know which is the most common or whether some early symptoms occur more commonly in different groups of individuals. Using natural language programming to identify all patients in CRIS with DLB, this study will describe and investigate common diagnoses after the age of 50 predating the diagnosis of dementia.

The Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) system is a computer system that allows researchers at the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) to carry out research using information from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust clinical records.
