What is the nature of mental health problems among refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people in clinical settings, and what treatments do they receive?

  • Applicant: Layla Rashid
  • Project ID: 24-095

Refugee and asylum-seeking children face significant barriers in accessing mental health treatment, and little is known about their mental health needs or the treatments they receive. This research aims to analyse clinical notes to gain a deeper understanding of the presenting mental health problems, current treatment approaches and outcomes for children and young people seeking mental health care. By identifying patterns in these cases, the study will provide valuable insights to inform evidence-based clinical decision-making and guide the development of more effective evidence-based interventions.
