People with dementia could be at higher risk of being admitted to hospital with infections, which may affect their condition. This study seeks to establish whether infections resulting in hospital admissions are associated with worse health outcomes in people with dementia, what the added risk of infection is and which particular patients may be at increased risk of hospitalised infection.
