In 2012 the UK government announced new immigration policies, collectively known as the hostile environment policy, which culminated in the Windrush Scandal – our previous research has proven that these policies increased psychological distress in people from Black Caribbean backgrounds, and we now want to investigate if they have increased severe mental illness, such as psychosis. We will compare rates of first episode psychosis, psychosis inpatient admissions, psychosis referrals from A&E and involuntary detentions for psychosis, between people from different minoritised ethnic backgrounds to people from White British backgrounds before and after the immigration policy came into place, and before and after the Windrush Scandal media coverage.<br/>
